Saturday Saunter

With a Century ride planned for Canada Day, I was looking forward to an easy, low-intensity, spin Saturday morning.  Wheeling into the church parking lot shortly before 8am, Peter and I were joined by Hans, Rob, Dr. Dave, his racer-friend from Quebec and a few of the other local speed demons, women included.  What was supposed to be an easy ride so as not to burn too hard before Sunday’s 100miles turned out to be a fairly zealous 80kms.  Fortunately, we all felt good, took turns pulling, kept together and hammered out those 80kms in short order.   The rest of the day was spent refuelling and getting a good night’s sleep ahead of Sunday’s Canada Day Century.  [pics credited to Peter Murk]
