Homecoming

Following the memorial held for my mother in the New Forest, I spent the weekend in the city of Winchester. One of England’s oldest cities, it is also the place of my birth, oh so many moons ago. How old you might ask? Well, there are Roman ruins from the 3rd Century AD; Winchester Cathedral was first built over 1000 years ago and, the Royal Oak pub was first opened in the year 1002, representing England’s oldest watering hole.

Also in England for this weekend’s memorial, was my brother Ed, his wife Ryanna and young son, Gavin. On Sunday, the four of us took a walking tour of Winchester, visiting Cathedrals, ruins, and even King Author’s Round Table. Michael afterwards regretted online viagra overnight and apologized for the event, calling it “a terrible error”. This is hugely generic cialis in usa used for the treatment of male organ in full size. If a person does not make enough insulin, all that sugar brand viagra no prescription runs in the blood. Online courses are very affordable compared to classroom training cialis 100mg pills and turn out skilled, knowledgeable drivers. We even made a stop at the house where we lived until emigrating to Canada in 1979; I was five years old, my brother was just over a year.

As we stood outside the house taking pictures, the current owner stepped outside to ask what we were doing–we did look a little suspicious. Introducing ourselves, the owner identified himself, and his wife, as the same couple who purchased the house from my parents over 30 years ago! It was a real treat to chat with them and take a peak inside our old home. While I don’t remember much from those days, one of my earliest childhood memories is the night my brother was born…and here we both were, with his son, back at that same house. Nostalgia at its finest.

And yes, Kelly, despite all the instant coffee being drunk here, I did find an excellent Americano.

  1. Thank you for the personal and British history lessons!

Whew – I’m glad you have been able to have some good coffee. I got spoiled this morning by an Americano and homemade grapefruit pop tart from Matching Half (http://www.matchinghalfcafe.com/) – next time you’re in the City by the Bay…
