The Desert is Alive…and so am I!

Back in the Chihuahuan desert of south-west Texas about a week now, I am finally starting to feel at home.  Reuniting with old friends, taking in each magnificent sun-rise and finding my desert mountain-bike legs while getting used to the remarkable silence has certainly put a smile on my face.  While it looks like home, being here in October and after a summer of rain has changed the landscape dramatically from what I am used to.  Rather than looking upon all those tired, drought-wrought plants and cacti, all is green!  Everywhere I look, the grass is high, the trees are full of leaves and the ground is covered in yellow and magenta flowers; luscious!  The desert is alive and so am I!

More postings to come but for now, a few pictures of my first week back in West Texas.
